My Brown-Eyed Earl

My Brown-Eyed Earl (The Wayward Wallflowers, #1)by Anna Bennett

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was an interesting romance novel full of redemption. A down on her luck woman ends up working for the man she rejected years before, in order to save her sisters from the poor house. The story was well written and easy to read. The character’s thought processes were clearly explained, so you weren’t left wondering why they act the way they do. Books in this genre are rarely this good in quality. Kudos to the author for that. While it wasn’t an incredibly believable story for the time period, it was an excellent example of historical fantasy. It is a mix of modern thinking in a historical setting. Would recommend.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me an advance copy free of charge to review.
